On April 6th, 2017, His Excellency Amr Al-Dabbagh, Chairman and CEO of the Al-Dabbagh Group and Founder of Philanthropy University, gave a talk on his new book Omnipreneurship: An Organized Approach for Living a Life of Meaning at the Stanford Faculty Club. His Excellency was invited by Dr. Amin Saberi, Co-Founder of NovoEd and Associate Professor at Stanford University. The event was co-hosted by NovoEd.
What is ‘Omnipreneurship’, you might ask? Omnipreneurship is an entrepreneurial approach to every aspect of life. Omnipreneurs focus on living more meaningfully across different areas of lives: in business, with family, and in community.
His Excellency opened his speech by defining Omnipreneurship. He talked about how he and his family were able to set effective goals and finish lines that were related to the three principles of giving, earning, and sustaining.
In the book, His Excellency offers three principles of giving, earning, and sustaining, five values, and ten golden rules to help people achieve their ultimate goals. Drawing on personal experience, His Excellency talked about the importance of working in an uplifting environment, imagining forward, executing well, collaborating to accelerate, and taking risks. The audience was very engaged by his fascinating stories.
The ten golden rules are the following:
- I am, therefore I am
- The greatest among you
- Exceptional execution
- Imagine the next big thing
- Honey is money
- Design organically
- Collaborate to accelerate
- Delight the stakeholder
- No risk, no gain
- Share your story
At the end, His Excellency concluded his speech by emphasizing the significance of living with purpose. He encouraged people to become Omnipreneurs and live a life of greater meaning. His talk was upbeat and inspiring. You could see that by the end each attendee was thinking about how they could apply these principles to more areas of their lives.
“I believe the strategies and skills needed to accelerate success should belong to everyone.” – His Excellency Amr Al-Dabbagh
